Post-Operative Recovery Support for Clinics & Surgeons
Supporting patients after cosmetic surgery is a key part of achieving good outcomes. Recovery does not end after the procedure, and the way the body heals can directly affect both results and patient satisfaction.
At The Angel’s Touch, post-operative recovery care is provided by Leila Mazouz, with a structured, experience-led approach focused on supporting healing, managing complications, and improving the overall recovery process.
The service complements your surgical work by providing consistent, hands-on support throughout each stage of healing.
Why Refer Your Patients
Patients often experience challenges during recovery that require more frequent and specialised attention than can be provided within a surgical setting.
This may include persistent swelling, early signs of fibrosis, fluid accumulation such as seroma-related concerns, or uneven healing leading to visible irregularities. In some cases, patients may also experience discomfort or restricted movement as tissues begin to heal and adapt.
Access to appropriate post-operative care means these concerns can be addressed early, which supports a smoother recovery and helps maintain the quality of surgical results.
Approach to Post-Operative Care
Each patient is treated according to their individual recovery rather than a fixed protocol. Care is adapted to the stage of healing, the surgical procedure performed, and how the tissue is responding over time.
Treatment typically progresses from early-stage swelling management to more advanced work focused on fibrosis, scar tissue, and tissue remodelling, so each phase of recovery is supported appropriately as the body changes.
Scope of Practice
Post-operative care focuses on supporting the body through different aspects of recovery, including swelling management, lymphatic drainage, fibrosis and scar tissue treatment, and improving tissue mobility.
Particular attention is given to addressing irregularities and supporting overall contour, alongside ongoing guidance on compression so that garments are used effectively throughout recovery.
Where medical intervention is required, patients are referred back to their surgeon for appropriate care.
Specialist Experience in Fibrosis Management
A significant part of the work involves managing fibrosis and tissue changes that can develop during recovery. Early identification matters, as fibrosis can begin forming within the first days after surgery and may progress if not addressed correctly.
Treatment is adapted based on tissue density and presentation, ranging from early-stage intervention to more advanced techniques for denser or established fibrosis. The aim is to improve tissue quality, restore mobility, and reduce visible irregularities over time.
Credentials and Training
This work is supported by a strong foundation of training and practical experience, combining advanced manual techniques with technology-based approaches.
Training includes advanced Manual Lymphatic Drainage, UK lymphoedema education, post-operative care training in Brazil, Tecar therapy, and specialised techniques for scar work and fibrosis management. This is further supported by a background in sports massage, which gives a deeper understanding of tissue behaviour and recovery.
Practical Experience
Experience covers all stages of post-operative recovery, from early management of swelling through to more complex cases involving fibrosis, scar tissue, and irregular healing.
This includes hands-on work with compression management, tissue remodelling, and ongoing patient support throughout recovery.
Referral Pathway
Referrals can be made directly through a dedicated referral form, which allows relevant patient information and surgical details to be shared securely.
Patients can also self-book following your recommendation, or be guided pre-surgery so they understand the importance of post-operative care and arrive prepared for recovery.
What Happens Next
Once a referral is received, the patient is contacted directly and their care is planned according to their individual needs and stage of recovery.
Communication with the clinic can be maintained where required, so there is continuity of care and alignment throughout the patient’s recovery.
Locations
Appointments are available in both North London and Central London, offering flexibility for patients depending on their location and preference.
